About My Heya
My Heya helps foreigners in Japan find a place to live. We explain how renting works in Japan, and we list share houses that accept inquiries in English. “Heya” (部屋) means “room” in Japanese.

We are the team behind ShareClip, a site for finding share houses in Japan.
Where the listings come from
All share house information on My Heya comes from ShareClip and is updated every day. We only list houses whose operators have chosen to publish them in English on ShareClip. When you open a listing, you go to its page on ShareClip, where you can see the details and contact the operator. House pages and inquiry forms are available in English and Japanese.
Rooms can fill up quickly. Always check the latest details on the house’s page before you decide.
How listings are ordered
Featured listings are houses that pay for placement on ShareClip. We show them first. We do not rank Featured listings against each other. The order of all listings changes every day. The other listings show only houses that have reported an available room.
About our guides
Our guides are written by our editors. We base them on public information, such as materials from Japan’s Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and on what we have learned from running a share house site. They give general information, not legal advice.
